Congratulations, Brandon! Great looking guitar. After having tried to convince you that you probably couldn't find what you wanted in your price range and should settle for a single-bound, I'm delighted that I was wrong and that you got the guitar you were jonesing after.

Well when I first got it the band was aver for a rehearsal, so I just switched guitars and continued with the set list. The first song I played with it was called Please Listen to Me, followed by Give it a Shot, Her Song, and She Loves You. The music sounded so cool with the additional 12 strings!
On a side note, I think I converted my dad into a Rick lover. A few months ago he was like "I don't understand why you would want to spend that much on a guitar anyways, whats so special about a Rickenbacker?" and then when he saw it, he played it for hours, and then asked if he could use it in one of his songs

That's the way you do it, Brandon. People around my area balk at the prices of Rics, and when the play them, some of them pretend not to like them, but some hang out with me just to have fun on my Rics!

Exactly! Yea my dad is open minded, and he's taught me to be open minded. Thats why I started looking at Rickenbackers. Otherwise I would only have my Strat, which I also love. This guitar is so beautiful that it even convinced my friend who plays heavy music and mostly plays Ibanez and Schecters to go out and look at a Rickenbacker bass. Basically what I'm saying is, everyone loves a Ric!

Yea, she's great. Her name is Robin. Or Robyn. Haven't decided. quick question, should I be humidifying this like my acoustic? Or does it not need to be?

Depending on the climate where you live, you may find it necessary to humidify (or dehumidify) your new guitar. I find that over the winter months, all the dry air does affect my electrics as well as my acoustics. My solution has been to buy a hygrometer from a hardware store, so that I can monitor the humidity in my guitar room. Then I've invested in some Planet Waves Humidipaks (which were created for acoustic guitars) and put one inside a perforated plastic ziplock bag in each electric guitar case. The Humidipaks are supposed to work in both directions, that is to humidify or dehumidify as needed, and to keep the guitar at the optimum 45-50% humidity. This last winter I found that my electric guitars needed less setup attention than in previous years. We're in the middle of a very humid summer here in Cleveland, so I've also invested in a 50-pint dehumidifer for my guitar room. So far both my acoustics and my electrics seem to be holding up pretty well.

well I do have a planet waves humidifier, so I guess I'll use that and see when the winter comes.
