Thanks Woody, yeah I've wanted one since I was a kid (they were new then) and my son gave me the amp for Christmas last year. The refurb was a fun project as we did it together more or less and it was in such good shape it didn't cost a ton to do the refurb. At only 23 watts or so this amp stays at home or goes to recording sessions and that's it. I use a Trace Elliot rig for bigger gigs and a GK for smaller ones so I'm covered.woodyng wrote:hey there,ROBJ. i had one of those ampeg sb-12's and ended up selling it for the same reason you posted. it sounded great at lower volumes,but couldn't really cut it for gigs.
