Well, good to see, we haven't actually heard his playing yet.
This is true! I think there were some video's taken as well as pictures. If any make it to you tube I'll post up a link.

Everyone seems to think it sounded great, including our drummer who enjoys pointing out everything he doesn't like at every gig. I'm not sure our Bass player will be pleased. That will teach him to back out of gigs at the last moment!

I will tell you that my fingertips are a bit sore today :)

Oddly enough, those tiny cheese slicer strings on a guitar make my fingers hurt...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

The cheese slicer feeling that guitar strings have is quite different than the sore fingertip feeling that bass strings can give to a person who is not used to playing or not practiced enough on either.
Funny though, when I put a set flatwound strings on my 4004Cii and played it though several sets of music, the sore fingertip feeling came back until I got used to them. You'd think flats would be easier on the fingertips, but I guess it's just what you're used to.

I played a bass with tape strings once, and when sliding, they almost burn your fingers...wierd.

No, with jazz you can always find a way to justify whatever note you happen to be playing at the time.

Nice job, Dan! :D You do look good playing a bass, too. 8)

Sorry, I did not mess around with any potato's but I did pose a bit (as usual). Lot's of pictures were taken but all I have to share are these 2 cell phone shots a friend took.

I got a lot of compliments on the bass playing (and probably more on the bass itself, sometimes I forget just how revered Rick basses are).

The show went over great. I appreciate all of the advice.

That Jacket is way cool and looks awesome with that Jetglo

So true. I rarely play bass, and whenever I pull out my bass WITH FLATS, my fingertips hurt...a lot. Good thing I don't use rounds!

Also, glad to hear you had fun, Dan. This is probably a turning point, practice bass regularly!
