His nose is tuned (attuned) to Rickenbacker basses.

I know where he got it. Tony walked into an old music store where they forgot to put it out in 1967. Finding it in the storage room, they thought to themselves...hey no discounts here, we're putting this baby out for full retail...$295 plus tax...

I don't know about that, I just looked in my closet and it's not there.

A beautiful bass Tony.
And the slim "tail" treble surround adds to the gorgeous look.
By the way, I have seen a 1968 (last batch of RMs?) with similar pale wings.
Look after her, but remember...
Future generations need to hear these instruments so play it and record it.

That looks like a good one to for the folks at RIC to examine and take measurments from for the fabled V68.

or in this case, V67.

Well there are a few tiny nicks here & there & a small amount of buckle worming on the back, otherwise I would have called it near mint.

The shoes have a decent charge...but not as strong as older hs pickups. These wider gap late '60s horseshoes don't have as stong a charge as the pre '66 shoes.

Not to worry, I'm going to baby this one. It'll be in the same condition as it is today as long as I have it.
I do plan to record with it...but gigs will be a no-no.

At any rate, congrats on the awesome score Tony! IIRC, you own a 1999, how does this 4001 compare to it?

Yes Kevin, as far as I know, '67 was a low production year.
