OH! (slow on the uptake here) Rick-O-Sound is referring to the double-jack stereo wiring, not the silver X/Y splitter box, correct? I've heard of '68 being the first year they appear stock, but have never actually seen one yet.

My April '69 is mono-wired.

I wanna say it was 1970 or so for ROS, but may be earlier.

I thought about 1970 was the earliest as every 4001 that I've had from '69 and earlier was mono.
So the one I just got is the earliest I've seen....

I thought ROS was an option early on and later became standard. I have no idea of the dates though.

Ken, that is my understanding as well. I think the circa "1970" date we refer to is in the area of when all the 4001's had ROS as a standard feature.

Pictures like this cause me to have "The Grass is Greener" syndrome. (or is it "The Grass is Mapleglo" ?)
Must look away!

Heh heh... "The Maple is Greener?" "The Grass is Maplegloier?" "The Glow is Mapleier?"
It's all good! Or bad. Depending on which way you slice it. (The Mapleglo)

(By the way - credit where it's due: the bass on the left is Tony Matura's, mine's on the right. Already said that over on the FB version of RRF, but there you go again.)

Guys,
I think I'm going to move this to the RIC BASS SECTION in just a bit.
Being this post has taken a life of it's own, which is VERY COOL INDEED, I think it needs to be in the spotlight.

Makes sense. I guess there's really nothing for sale here. Nothing to see here - please return to your place of business or residence!
