Guy.....Using either tuner would require the tuner shaft hole to be enlarged a bit. The hole for the GB7 would have to be enlarged a bit more than for the RIC/Schaller tuner actually. On a bass like the 4004, I prefer the Gotohs, but if you like the vintage look, then go for the RIC/Schaller tuner. A plus with them is that the original M4 screw hole will be covered. Using the GB7 will leave it uncovered I believe.
