I'm still in shock.
After decades of requests for the wider neck on this iconic body shape and it ticks all the check boxes in other areas.
Awesome, biggest news from Rickenbacker ever, all 3mm.
I can hear a clean open C chord already...wow.

When will we hear the tale of how Pete was involved in getting this to happen?
Will he use it on stage soon, let me guess...Jetglo?
Whats the current neck profile shape?

Hope its a wild success for the company, I'm sure John will be watching with great interest after reading all the endless debates over the years.
Perhaps it will open the doors for more artists and even bring back some former players. Great to see this at last, great move. Thanks Rickenbacker!!

My wiring mods diagram solves both of these issues, and keeps the stock appearance and function of the knobs.
Yeah but your wiring mods won't magically make the middle pickup disappear from view. ;)

How about a conversion to a 6-string ?
New nut, new bridge (?), truss rod adjust.....is that all what one needs?

I can't wait to get my hands on one of these. It's a great mix of familiar features, cleverly blended in order to create something new. A master stroke! Apart from the wider neck, it is the guitar I ordered from Nick Thiel 7 or 8 years ago. Will the record of my payment still be on file?

How about removing the octave strings? Simplistic, I know, but I've seen it done with a Rick 12er.

Am I the only one who prefers the "standard" width neck over the wider one?

I like guitar necks thin, both side to side and front to back.

I don't let things like neck thickness or width "prevent" me from playing any guitar, but in general I prefer thinner Rickenbacker necks, particularly for 12-strings.

That said, I still think the 1993Plus is boss. Love it!
