Just wondering if these Amish will work on an electric bass guitar?
They certainly use plenty of power tools.............

Not me! This awesome specimen arrived today! After indulgently playing around for about an hour, I got down to work and replaced the stock input jack with a stereo jack. What a tremendous improvement! It's an '87.

Boise, Idaho! Of all places, Boise, Idaho!
I actually didn't find it, myself. On Leftybassist.com one of the members posted a link to the Craigslist ad for this bass in the "Southpaw Spotted" section. I have no idea how he found it. I then immediately contacted the seller, and he was willing to ship! Lucky me! The seller is a really super guy.

Oh My God!!!! Jeff, you reminded me that I DID see this bass recently.
Conley, you might remember my telling you that I am a "lurker" on Leftybassist. I DO remember seeing it on the "Southpaw Spotted" thread.
I actually check that thread every day!!! I had even considered contacting that person, but decided not to pursue it.
A Lefty Tuxedo is definately a rare and cool bass to find. Enjoy Superheavydeathmetal dude!!!!

That is a rare bass - I would guess September or October 87 myself.

There's a couple of Ruby S's on the 'Bay... the first of that finish I've seen thus far.
Still NO sign of any Walnuts.

I saw a lefty Tux on eBay years ago, so knew of its existence and mentioned it in the book. If I ever do a second edition, I may want to use a decent photo of it.

Just a quick update.
I did go for another - a Ruby.
This one is the polar opposite of the last one. There is no buzzing at all, the E string is alive and bristling with tone, and even better, I think it's pretty light, in at around 8.8lbs (same as my USA Precision). Compared to some 4003's I've played, I'm very happy with that.
I love the contours and dots, and the whole bass is exceptionally well finished.
My confidence was dented after the last one - but I'm glad I persevered.
The odd thing was, the first bass came in a non-Ric shipping box, and when I opened the case, the strings were pretty floppy, no tension at all. The new one has the from the US to importer to the retailer box, and the bass was pretty playable from the off.
....and the colour is simply gorgeous, really emphasises the cuuuurves!

My battle-worn, 28-year-old Ruby 4003S sends greetings to its young sibling!
