If I were to get a Snowglo 4003, I would get Pickguardian to make a pearlescent pickguard to match the fingerboard inlays. To me, that looks like ice, so you would have the beautiful(?) wintry combination of Ice and Snow.
Sounds sweet.

This is the pearlescent pickguard by Pickguardian, Paul is talking about. I have yet to spray the back with white lacquer and try it out myself.

I can understand the back painting so that you may not see through it, but wouldn't a white back spray kinda kill the pearlescent effect? Perhaps a light gray backing? Before committing it to paint, try laying the pg over white paper or cloth, and then over gray paper or cloth. Jeff Scott, did you back paint the one you had on your Jetglo?

No back painting that I know of, unless Tony did it; I don't recall. Len Lescosky has the bass now, perhaps, if he is reading this, he can chime in?

I'd vote for Snowglo as well, since it is the rarer of the two beasts. And I'd leave the white pickguard on it, to me that is what puts the snow in the snowglo!!!

They come with a container with real snow in it, fresh from So Cal! For an extra fee I think they can supply snow from the Sierras, if desired.
This place could use some, not much there lately, I think.

Good idea, Paul. It was Tony that suggested the white lacquer to avoid the see through. But what you say, may be worth exploring.

Tony might send you some sample pieces for you to experiment with, possibly.

That must be why the Snowglos were such a limited edition, because of the water restrictions in Cali....

If you need another opinion at this juncture, snoglo gets my vote. And with the pearlescent pg to match the inlays. The blue one is just gonna look like an ol' ordinary jetglo

under most lighting conditions.....

And of course, nobody likes "ordinary Jeglo"

I really like Jetglo, but I've never owned a RIC with that finish, probably because my favorite finishes are Fireglo, Mapleglo and Burgundyglo, in no particular order....
Seems like every time I've had an opportunity to buy a Ric, one of those options is available, so I've never had a Jetglo bass or guitar.

I didn't like Blue Boy when it came out, but I love the way those are aging.
I'd rate my favorites the same, and the same lack of order. I also love the natural walnut finishes.
Maybe someday I'll be a mapleglo something.
