I'll bet the winner is going to take a $5k bass and play owner of a lonely heart (which can be done with a $200 bass)!

"I'll bet the winner is going to take a $5k bass and play owner of a lonely heart (which can be done with a $200 bass)!"

LOL! was Owner of a Lonely Heart played on a Ric? I thought he was in his weird basses period at that time.

No way this bass is worth $5K! I don't know who sniffed more glue, the seller or the buyer.

Oh, forgot to introduce myself. I'm Ilan (pronounced Elon) from Tel Aviv, Israel, and I'm new here. Hi everyone! Last time I owned a Ric was more than 10 years ago, a 1973 4001JG, long gone; but I will soon own a Ric again.

I thought Philthy Phil was Motorhead,s drummer back in the day!!! Still love the madness of "Overkill"...Regardless, that works out to about 2150 pounds, still big money even for the U.K. market. I,m ready to bring home a new Ric and make some money...

Why thank you, gentlemen, that's me you are discussing. Yes, I'm "legit" (see www.bfch.co.uk), and yes I paid a lot for it - I'm lucky enough to have the dosh, so my privilege, I think. You can't get these things over here in the UK and I've always wanted one. Another one for the collection. And no, I won't be banging out "Owner" on it - I'm even more sad, I'll be having a crack at Siberian Khatru first. Whether it'll be a patch on my C64 remains to be seen.

When and where are you playing in Boston, Phil?

Thanks for the welcome, Marc.

Hi Bob - we're on tomorrow at the Blackfriars Arts Centre, but we're also regulars at a pub called "The Axe and Cleaver". It almost lives up to its image - I got bitten there once whilst I was playing...

In case there's any confusion, it's Boston, Lincolnshire, England. Wish it was Boston, Mass. but maybe one day.

The only Boston around here is the McDonald's owned Boston Market... maybe even a Boston terrier!
