Did this happen to anybody else?: I placed a no hope bid just for the heck of it on this guitar. Some goof contacted me from British Columbia (Or so he/she says) claiming to also have a 1959 Rick 4000 for sale that I could have for $2700.00. He/she wrote in fractured Enlglish that he/she has a "new electronics store" and has one of these. I wrote back and told them that it looked like some kind of computer generated mistake. They got back to me and said no mistake, they have one. So I asked them to send me a photo. They sent photos that were obviously from the ebay auction that started this thread. So I emailed them back and told them that it looked surprisingly similar to the one that just sold on ebay, and that I must have it! Then I asked them where to send my money. They still haven't written me back and that was two days ago. Obviously, I'm NOT going to deal with this person/people, but I'm just wondering if they're trying to scam me only or others also. I think this happened to me with another ebay auction once about a year ago. Its just kinda funny. I think it must be some 9-year-old kid playing with the computer and trying to see what he/she can get away with.

Steve, I happened upon a nice guitar collection that I need most of my available cash to flip. I loved the bass but, it's not like it's my dream bass because of all the mods.

You can check out some of the goods on ebay after 10PM tonight under my username marcdavidsales

Rickaddict-
Once after losing a bid for a Rick bass on ebay (US) I received an email from Japan offering me a number of other Ricks. I ignored it, it seemed fishy. Weird though. Appeared to be a private party.

I bid on a Lightshow a while back and received several solicitations offering me the same item at a lower price. One guy even said that he had 6 in stock! He claimed to be in Spain but he had a .co.uk address and his mail originated from a server in Finland. eBay is a dangerous place if you are not careful. I received similar solicitations when I bid on the Shadow and Tuxedo.
