I have a 450 refinished in navy blue. Looks like jetglo from a distance, but absolutly beautiful close up. It's much deeper than m/night blue & might make a good colour of the year.

My vote is for greenglo though.
'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

I'm thinking that the translucent colors are the correct guess.

I'd LOVE Navy (as if I could afford a 4003 after my car fiasco)!

I still think we'll see transparent finishes ported over to the traditional lineup.

An excellent point Brian. A blue tone after Midnight, Azure hope so.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

I'd have a slight debt problem if they do the translucents on 4003's. I would certainly get the green. Possibly the red also.

Dennis - I agree with you 100%! I mentioned that a couple of weeks ago in a different thread.

Will we know the new color of the year before RIC discontinues Blueboy?

One thing about the trans finishes - are those currently offered only on models with figured maple?

I noticed that the RIC website identifies the colour of the year for 2005 as being "BBR".

The sample is greyed for now and will obviously be replaced with the new "BBR" finish once it's announced in January.

Any guesses as to what "BBR" stands for? Remember, Mr Hall mentioned that someone had correctly guessed what the new colour is in one of the threads on this site.

BlueBurst, BrownBurst? The R throws me.

Nah.....

They extended Montezuma Brown from COY in '03 into '04 while introducing Blueboy....

....must be something else...

Gotta guess that 1 of the Bs could stand for Blue, Brown, Black, Burgandy, Beige (yuck!) Periwinkle - oops.
Another B could be for Burst.
The R could be part of the second B as in BRown.
Could also be Red as in Burgandy Burst Red. Nah.

I'm sticking with some form of Blueburst.

Blue Burst Reverse? I'd love to see that one.
