I built my own as wewll using Canare cable and jacks, at about 25ft the whole thing was under $30, and works well. Not sure what's in a ROS box, but I'm going to find out tonce mine arrives, I'll open it up and post pictures.

Yeah, I'm curious whether there's anything in there (the ROS box) to justify the price... Other than the cool Rick logo, of course. ;) I'm very intrigued by the possibilities of applying distortion so just the bridge pickup and splitting my sound, one of the things that first intersted me in a Rick, actually. I had a nightmare trying to make something like this work on a mono bass and a amp head with two inputs on one channel. I've got myself a nice two-channel power amp now, and I can even split the output of that - lots of possibilities. Here's an thought: Splice the two channels together after effects with a pot, so you can control the blend with a mono output. Just an idea...

an interesting note ... the ric-o-sound on my 2001 4003 is shorting out ... I may swap it out for 2 mono outputs ...
