I've tried them. It's already enough to keep 4 strings tuned! How would you like someone to turn to you and say "Hey man, your middle D string is flat." Besides, as much as I'd like to play with a pick, it still dosen't feel right.
Tom usually uses Transonic cabs now...I'm surprised he has a sig model, and it's not a Kids or a Chandler! A fine looking bass, though. Tom was a huge influence on me starting out. I worked security for them early on and his sound was just stellar. Never got to play thru his rig, though.

I'm glad to hear Tom still uses the Transonic cabs. He bought them from me after renting them for a Tonight show appearance right after Leno took over.
I used to do a lot of business with Tom (and Rick to a lesser degree,) and have a few mutual friends, but lost touch after I closed the retail store. Tom's a really good guy.
Sorry, Scott, but from looking at your website, with the Yardbirds guitar, and the Jamerson bass, as well as some of the other guitars being auctioned off (I am a huge Eric Johnson fan!) I would think there would be more than a handful of people interested in the stories behind these instruments.

I have copies of last year's auction catalog with images and write ups on all the instruments that are currently on my site, plus other instruments, Beatles, Elvis, Hendrix & other music related memorabilia, etc. $18.00 each, including (domestic) USPS Priority Mail shipping.
Much cheaper than it would cost me to put out a book.
