That's the sort of regime I'm into, Graham. I'm impressed with your dedication and commitment! Image

I suggest everyone brush up on their math tables!

I, too, am hearing the call. Sad to say, today I sliced a bit of skin on the end of my middle finger tip off and cannot fret my bass! Got into the start of the meat... Image

Personally, I'm not into regimes. Regimens, maybe. One way or the other, I'll be there.

Okay, here is what I have envisioned:

Friday 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Nothing scheduled, so it'll be hanging out time.
NOTE: we will be in a different room on Friday due to other scheduling at the hotel. It is only a short distance from the other one, so it's no big deal (although we will have to relocate the gear to the Saturday/Sunday room at the end of the day).

Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Jam Session: 4-7 p.m. (if we can stand it that long). I will be the "sound nazi" with regard to sound levels. I have a sound meter that will be used to make sure that we don't get out of control (the guilty parties know who they are ...Image). There are rooms nearby and we do want to be "good neighbors" to the other guests at the hotel.

Sunday 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Nothing scheduled, so more hanging out.

Those who were in attendance in 2005 know what to expect; for those who were not here in 2005 but were in attendance last year: (voice of Yoda) "You must unlearn what you have learned." It will not be like last year's in that there will be no structure to the event except for the jam session (and even that will be less structured than last year's).

One thing to note is that in 2005 many spontaneous "mini-jams" occurred during all hours, something that did not happen last year.

It's hard to phrase this right, but I hope that those attending will not be disappointed when it's seen that this year's confluence is not quite like last year's.

Won't there even be an organized tour of the factory for everyone, offered by John Hall? Is there any support being offered by RIC this time?

Nothing officially scheduled.

Can we start a thread to beg Mr. Hall for a tour? Maybe just a small group of RRF forumites? Some folks are traveling a long way and haven't seen it before, so that would be really nice, although I understand it is a bit of a burden/interruption for the crew.

Even I have been anxious to see it... so you know the other half has it at the top of his list.. is this where the begging line starts...

Sorry, no tours planned this year.

This event is strictly under the control of Gary and the other locals who started the SoCal Confluence; we just horned in a bit last year given the special anniversary, and we'll just be attendees as private individuals like everyone else.

It might be different in 2011, of course.

Mr. Hall...don't be surprized if someone from Maryland is seen standing in front of Rickenbacker INC getting his picture taken with his newly refinished 4001 that Dale Fortune will hopefully be bringing with him. Image
