That 4000 has a great big hairy sound but I did find myself missing that neck pickup.

A few recent ones. First is July 2011 with '77 4001S and then last Saturday 9/17 with new 2010 4003.

Here are 2 photos of me playing 2 different Ric basses (not mine, unfortunately): at home playing a friend's 1978 4001 bass and at Sam Ash Music in New York City playing a 2010 4003 bass.
