walker wrote:Nice! It's definitely got that classic look. Let us know how that pickup option works out.
Did you get the photos I sent, btw?
It needs CB!!!

And walnut wings on the headstock.
Yes I did, and replied with a question or two. Did you see those?

This old girl turned 26 this month. Still loving her three years later. She's got some minor weather checking and battle scars, but that what makes it so awesome! What I love the most, is that the neck has never been adjusted since I bought it, the action is very low, but the bridge is high. No neck angle issues there!
Thanks again, Ron O'Keefe!

Is the back of the neck stripped of it's FG, too?

It's not had THAT much use!!
I don't know how the front of the headstock got to lose its coat - in fact it's not all gone, there is some remaining by the low E peg, and it's all in place under the TRC. The sides of the HS have also been shorn on their coat. Funnily enough it all looks quite normal - shows up much more on the photo. It obviously happened early on in its life as I've had it for the last 38 years.
The back of the headstock is fully coated, the neck is normal too - bit lighter around the 7th to 9th frets but not a lot of difference really. When I bought it, back in '75, I bought it as a gigging guitar - for a few years my only gigging guitar (apart from a Sha***bury that I had as back up). The Sha***bury was in this instrument's case and had this instrument's vibrato arm on it when it was stolen in the late 70s - lucky escape!!
The old girl was allowed to tread the boards for one night in 2012 - but then I don't have too many live outings in a year either. She will definitely get out next year to celebrate her coming of age.
She's waited over 30 years for a new sister - but that all changes next week when my 2005 330 12 arrives fresh from Kentucky - can't wait!

I wish!! (but I was only 8 years old when she was created).
I bought her with my first month's pay packet back in September '75 - so I've had her a good long time.
She still plays really well and has good intonation in a studio environment. TBH she was always difficult to keep in tune under lights, but in ambient conditions she's no problem at all.
I've had lots of guitars since, still have a good few and never have once contemplated selling her. When I first bought her I part chopped a 1960 Les Paul SG for her - values were low in those days. She will be the last to go!

I knew a guy who had a 330 with the FG stripped off the whole neck and headstock, which is why I was wonder about your, too.
