That's what I suspected.
At least teach him how to use a measuring tape!
Oh, and while we're on the subject, perhaps he should learn what a radius is, what symmetry is,....

He has cut back on the extraneous hardware bits, I see. That's an improvement.

Yeah, at this rate the strings, pickups and knobs will soon be decals, too.

I have been looking for a Les Paul Personal, Professional, or Recording model for a couple of years, now, to replace my mint, stupidly-traded-off '71 Personal...

Here's what today's search turned up:

Living proof that luthiery and good taste can be mutually exclusive...Yeccchhhh!

Hey Paul, if you could buy this one for a more reasonable price, does it have the potential to be refinished by you into a a more palatable and deserving finish? Or, do the issues run deeper than merely finish?

Yes...it originally was a very open-grained natural mahogany. Hera knows whether this "high-end finish" has penetrated into the mahogany's grain. If it has, all is lost...

Then there's the issue of the missing knobs and switches which give this guitar its unique character. The "custom lilac pearl" switch plate has obliterated all this unique circuitry: in/out of phase switch, decade selector, etc...ERK...

Looks way to busy to be considered, let alone implemented.

Here's some classic Dean guitar kitsch. One step closer to my dream of a flying-v banjo.

The "Futura" guitar, as shown on a Craigslist ad. You know, it does have a certain appeal, in a way...

Acoustic flying V? I wonder how it sounds.... it probably couldn't sound any worse than my Martin backpacker, which is just about as ugly, LOL!

That Futura guitar has an interesting streamlined shape.... but I don't do pointy guitars, LOL! Image

Did that thing escape from a Klingon battleship?
