That's why I always order the next one when the current one is down to about a third full, Elys...... can't be running dry now, can we? Image

The real trick with the shamrock is to do it with the last drizzle from the tap. Some use a knife tip or straw to draw it but THAT'S CHEATIN'!!!

There's a pretty good pub in Costa Mesa, not to far from the SoCal Confluence site, that pours a mean Guinness with a shamrock in the head. Goes great with the bangers and mash.

There's also Malone's! Right down the street, on Dyer. I think they have live music there.

If you want a choice of 120 different beers, be surrounded by trashy college girls, and get into a fight after last call, The Goat Hill Tavern is also nearby.

I prefer The Helm, which is next door and more trashy.

Neither place supports live music, though.

If you want the choice of of a really incredible amount of beers, there is Hollingshead on Main St. in Orange.

I've just heard from Gina at Malone's Irish Pub in Santa Ana, which is very near the Holiday Inn. She is going to find out if we can participate in the live entertainment the night of August 25th. Hopefully she has good news soon.

Still might come. Apparently my credit card owes me enough "reward" points for the airline ticket, and Amex owes me enough to rent a car. So money's not an excuse.

The issue is getting a late enough flight out on Friday. My son finishes Rock'n'Roll camp that day around 3PM, and I ain't missin' his performance.

That's what I'm looking to do. There are a few flights leaving NY from like 6-7:30. Should get me in around 10-11 LA time Friday.
