Thanks Joey, Jon, Kevin & John!

Jim,

Hey, there is nothing wrong with the Mrs. getting you a bass in my book! If it wasn't for the Sr. Management in this house, I'd still be
playing a Washburn!

Now the $100.00 question, WHICH Jazz? MIA, MIM, MIJ, 62RI, 75RI, or whatever other distinction they have! I'd like to land a 62RI one of these days!

Hey Tony, congrats. Glad the wait is finally over for you.

Jeff, or anyone. Bulbous or longer headstock?
Hell, I don't know.

LOL!

Looks BULBOUS to me, I think!

Bob, just tried your cell phone and left a message.

Wow, great shot!

I vote Bulbous....I saw one at MARF II and it was at least 3/4" thick. Maybe even 13/16" thick!

Bulbous indeed, 100w or larger Image

Looks the same as my 4003DCM, and Marc's too, Bob.

Congrats, Tony, now you have to bring it to some confluence somewhere! Maybe the SERF/FARTS confluence Jdog is thinking about.

Thanks Jeff,

I'd love to attend a confluence ONE OF THESE DAYS.

Hey, the FARTS confluence? Hmmm, I think I would do well at THAT ONE!

C'mon guys, why don't you schedule something here in FLORIDA, say in the COLDER WINTER MONTHS perhaps? Hmmmmm? Image

Since they all seem to be "bulbous" so far, would it be ridiculus to assume that perhaps all the DCM basses were run off the same machine?

Nice photo and Congrats Bob S! I agree that yours is the bulbous headstock. Its much harder to tell bulbous from non-bulbous the way RIC is cutting the headstocks today. I also think its harder to tell when you can't see the wings. I'm just going by how much length there is between the A tuner post hole and the headstock end, and also the TRC and the headstock end and so far they all look the same.

Scott-I don't think it is ridiculous. I said something kind of similar in a post yesterday:
"I don't know what's going on over at RIC with the two different neck cutting machines and two different headstocks, but I've only seen a few 4003's with the long headstock and its been months since I've seen a new one. Maybe they're using up all the stock of bulbous headstock necks before they resume building them with the longer headstock necks."

Congrats Brian! You were quite foresighted to order two! Image

I already have my 4003 DCM, and UPS just delivered today my matching 330 DCM and 660 DCM. Now all that's left is the 360 DCM and I will have a full set of all four DCMs... but not a second 4003 DCM like yours Image

Mines in transit, for some reason it seems to be doing a whistle stop tour on the way here .. So far it's gone from Latham, NY to Syracuse, NY on to Maumee, OH and now has just left Hodgkins, IL ....

This is driving me nuts !!

Elys, that's going to be some group shot once the 360 arrives !!!
