You guys think I can fit two bass cases in here? This may solve my problems.

looks good-except if the skycap or ticket agent decides its oversize.

Then its $75 extra.

Look around here, SKB has all kinds of cases, and sometimes it is cheaper to buy them from their outlet store.

The whole thing is getting too expensive. I might go for that case, and since it'll come shipped in a box, I can pack and ship Fedex, with a return tag, dropping it off at Kinko's before I go home...

Jared, you're right...100% they get me at the airport. It'll weigh about 80lbs with the two cases inside.

What are the rest of you guys doing?

Anyone going to bring a structurally sound 4005 project?

Good news! I was able to get out of my late Friday and early Saturday commitments, and I'll be able to get to the Columbus thing late afternoon Friday! I booked the hotel for Friday night, too, so I'm all set.

This will give me more time to shoot photos of basses and meet the guys who can be there only Friday p.m. I'm hoping the photos will make a great start to the book.

See you there!

Hey Marc-

"Sometimes" you can get buy by saying its golf clubs.

Unfortunately the airlines won't take a claim on damaged good in excess of $600/bag.

You will need supplemental insurance!

Jared, I think I'll be OK with that double bass Gator case. Weighs less than 50lbs with both basses.

Still haven't heard the concencus on loosening the strings.

I would only loosen them 1/2 to 1 step at most. The necks are strong and will be fine.

I will try to bring as many as possible. The projects will stay home. You can count on seeing the 4002, 4080, '63 4001, 4003S/8, and the Shadow. If I am feeling up to it, I may bring some of the others too.
