Back in the 70's there was a DJ named Charles Laquidara on WBCN Boston who used to call himself Duane Glasscock on Saturday mornings, and do all sorts of insane stuff like exort people to throw bags of Excretement onto the Govenors mansion's lawn etc. (which they did, he got into all sorts of trouble with the FCC) One day he mumbled something like umm, ahh, you know, you don't usually say things like this on the radio, but umm, ah, I really gotta go to the bathroom so I'm going to play several commercials for you while I'm gone. He played them all at the same time, haha!

Thanks for the memories Bob, I can remember when WBCN was THE radio station in the area.

I'm convinced the recently departed John Fred (Judy in Disguise) died of terminal embarrassment...
A side note- When i was 13 and in my first band (playing a CUSTOM KRAFT strat/Jaguar copy) in Cincinnati, my band played a 'BATTLE OF THE BANDS' against Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods (BILLY, DON'T BE A HERO)at some church 'festival'. This was probably 4 or 5 years before 'Billy'. The next day there was a write-up in the 'calendar' section of the local newspaper saying what FINE BOYS these HEYWOODS were, as in real life they had short hair, went to college,and wore wigs for their 'crazy music' performances. Totally 'thumbs up' by all God-fearing parents, and the natural kneejerk reaction by MY parents was 'See Steve- THESE boys don't have to have long hair to be popular- why does YOUR band have to? Ohhh God. I do hope THE HEYWOODS phoniness caught up with them at some point (other than this thread!). Today, they're all probably emplyed somewhere in the Bush administration!
Now, back to oatmeal...I like mine with raisins, or just by itself...builds bodies in 7 ways (count 'em)...

I don't think anyone in the Bush administration even knows what music is. Can you imagine Dick Cheney standing on top of the monitors playing a sax?

Recently reported was the "contents of Pres. Bush's Ipod" and I threw up a little in my mouth.

**First, Bush's iPod is heavy on traditional country singers like George Jones, Alan Jackson and Kenny Chesney. He has selections by Van Morrison, whose "Brown Eyed Girl" is a Bush favorite, and by John Fogerty, most predictably "Centerfield," which was played at Texas Rangers games when Bush was an owner and is still played at ballparks all over America.

The president also has an eclectic mix of songs downloaded into his iPod from Mark McKinnon, a biking buddy and his chief media strategist during the 2004 campaign. Among them are "Circle Back" by John Hiatt, "(You're So Square) Baby, I Don't Care" by Joni Mitchell, and "My Sharona," the 1979 song by the Knack that Joe Levy, a deputy managing editor at Rolling Stone in charge of music coverage, cheerfully branded "suggestive if not outright filthy" in an interview last week. **

"My Sharona" ... first it was a big hit ... then it was overexposed and everybody hated the Knack ... then the song was used in a movie recently it is cool to listen to and play again ...

Bush has to do something, he certainly isn't running the country.

Pres.Bush doesn't qualify on this thread. He had two hits, although sales of the first one were highly contested and the second one's sales were somewhat inflated.

I think there may have been some form of payola involved, and both of them far surpass any of the worst hits we've mentioned so far.

...and now all of us must face the music.
