Is that the 200 watt tube head Chris?

The Traynor is the YBA-3, rated at about 130 watts. My Ampeg sounds like it packs more power though. They're supposed to be equal. The YBA-3A Super Custom Special is rated at 200 watts. Traynor's version of the SVT at the time.

Ampeg underates their amps, always has, the B-15's that were rated at 30 watts were closer to 50, SVT's that are rated at 300 are closer to 350 etc.

Totally, because the V-4B drives my 8x10 cabinet way more, at the same volume, than the Traynor. Therefore that's why it is my baby.

My very first bass amp was a YBA-3! Wish I still had it.

First "New" bass amp, previous ones were used, was a Garnet B190.
Hammond Tremelo and Garnet Stinger (fuzz) were the built in effects.
Ditto on the wish I still had it.
Garnet became Traynor and they are still in demand by collectors these days.

Traynor's are great amps. I picked up that YBA-3 at GC last year for $75 bucks!!! All it needed was a good cleaning and some TLC.

Yeah, they opened one in Northwest Indiana by my house, so I had to stop in and take a look around. Glad I did though.

I bought a late 70's SVT cab in perfect playing condition from ebay (cosmetic? well...) for $200.00, that's 25 bucks a speaker.

How much was shipping on that beast? Image

That's why I got it so cheap, it was in the wilds of Conn. and I was the only one that bid on it. I threw a 200 minimum bid on it never expecting to win, ten days later it was mine, I drove about an hour to pick it up. The guy had the matching head and it was like new, the best sounding SVT head I've ever heard, couldn't afford it though. Believe it or not but someone wrote "the beast" in magic marker on the back nameplate of one of my cabs, haha!
