That's cool.My 4000 has a set in neck & it sounds great, but not as much bottom as a Fender, though tons more definition. That's why amps have tone controls - to compensate for what you think might be lacking.

Yeah, I've put in my max. Just have to wait. The seller seems like a good guy. He'd rather sell to someone who would use the guitar rather than resell. I have a feeling the emperor is lurking, though. It'll be a late night.

The ultimate nightmare. Actually my recurring nightmare is where my 4000 falls over on stage & the headstock snaps off! I've gone to great lengths to insure it doesn't ever happen.
There should be guitar police for people who hack up perfectly good guitars.

I love the case. Get yourself a couple of sawhorses and you've got yourself a kitchen table.

Or a map table! It might actually fit in my truck! If not I'll have to get a bigger truck.

I'm pretty excited now. I'll be REAL tired tomorrow. Whether I get the 4080 or not I'll have something new to play soon, though I'm not allowed to spend any more for a LONG time! Image

Woo Hoo!!!!!
I can't believe no one bid for 3 or 4 days! I would've gone much higher (even more than I could afford I'm afraid to say)! That's n unbelievable price, but he did say he paid a lot less than that for it back in '86 ( I won't say how much without asking him first).
Isn't everyone gonna be jealous the next time the band plays out (Nov. 5 so far)!
Thanks again to all you forumites for the fantastic support!!!!!

Congrats dude, really good price. Just listened to Passage to Bangkok on Exit stage Left the other night and thought about that 4080.
