The before on that 4002 looks nice, but the after looks excellent.

Thanks, Joey. It had a few dings, and some checkering, but it shines now.

I like the Fender Sunburst finish, but not on a Ric. In my opinion, it looks gorgeous on a Jazz bass or a Strat, but on the Ric, it looks kind of . . . strange and blotty. My Ric is Montezuma Brown and I can definitely say it looks *nothing* like Sunburst or Tobaccoburst or whatever those colors are called; it's *much* lighter and with a much less defined line between the darker brown and lighter brown. Those two pictures that Ken posted look nothing alike to me. Regardless of whether or not the finish is a nice finish is beside the point: it's obviously not what Ken wanted. Considering the other, numerous positive opinions of this guy's work, I think that Ken was unlucky enough to get a fluke bad job. Whatever it was, it'll hopefully be fixed somehow to whatever Ken wants.

Well a solution for the meantime,
With the white guard and TRC it makes the finish look darker so I matched up a gold guard and trc will end up putting them on it makes it look like a dark brown 50s color actually looks decent, very different but more tolerable.I'm a stickler for that factory look.

Hope it turns out for you Ken whatever you decide to do.
I'm one of those pepole that if something isn't right ,it will keep on bugging me until I do something about it.
I know another refin may seem drastic to some, but if you went ahead and it turned out how you originally intended, you'd be glad you did it.
On the other hand, it sounds like you're reconsidering and I can imagine with the gold guard and TRC, it will look quite unique.

Hey Ken! What's your email address?
I saw Chris Pappas on Friday, and he said you may be able to help me out with something I have been looking for.
Shoot me an email, if you don't mind.

Would that verb be pronounced "fisked"?

Dave, I got the B/W checkered binding. It's different from the genuine stuff, but close enough to look good. I found a connection for the real binding, and it's a good price. It comes from Germany, so it's the real thing. So maybe I'll do your 4080 with the checkered binding for you.

Dale, unrelated to your last post, is this just a great head stock or what, (in a totally unrelated way)?
