Where do you think you're going? Nobody's leaving. Nobody's walking out on this fun, old-fashioned family Christmas. No, no. We're all in this together. This is a full-blown, four-alarm holiday emergency here. We're gonna press on, and we're gonna have the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny Kaye. And when Santa squeezes his fat white butt down that chimney tonight, he's gonna find the jolliest bunch of a'holes this side of the nuthouse.

During this joyful holiday season, please be sure to remember those less fortunate than yourselves ... you know, those of us who have but one Rickenbacker, or worse yet, those who are waiting patiently for their first to arrive.
Think of us as you merrily strum the chords to Hard Day's Night, or Mr.Spaceman, and realize how truly blessed you are.

A funny experience today related to Jim's post. As you might know, I am a teacher now, teaching mostly music. I teach a number of classes but this morning I was with a group of grade 3 kids. As part of the Ontario curriculum, children are required to express their feelings about music through language, drawings, and drama. This morning I brought in two pieces of music for the kids to listen to and to work on communicating how they felt about the pieces. I chose "I Don't Want to Live on the Moon," a beautiful, sweet and slow version of Shawn Colvin's take on a Sesame Street standard (complete with "Ernie" singing harmony). As a second piece, I chose "Mr. Spaceman" by the Byrds. One kid commented, in the solo, "I like the guitar here, it sounds really cool." I, of course, went into a bit of a discussion about electric guitars and how different kinds sound different. I talked to them about Rickenbackers. A whole new generation of Rickenbacker officianadoes being brought up! Perceptive kid too-he gets an A!
