I might add that Randy's black Electro he posted pics of is built like a model 900, not a 1000. Randy, count the frets on your guitar, do you have 21 on your guitar? Also, notice how the bodies are cut...

John: I'll count the frets when I get home tonight. My '64 ES-16 looks exactly like the '63 900 in your picture. It's the first time I can recall ever seeing another guitar with the same exact body shape as mine. There must have been a number of minor variations on these low budget guitars.

Yes, variation may have been the name of the game on the small 'student guitars'...the 950 I have is like the 900, only with two p/ups and mine is Jetglo. Killer guitars.

Interesting. As far as it is known the Electro guitars were the equals of the model 1000(ES-16) and 420(ES-17) Rickenbackers, I don't know that I've ever seen one built like a 900. Very cool.
