I will be there. I have an Ampeg BA115 & stands I'll bring also.

If I can make it, I will have my Carvin PB100, and some extra stands.

How do you like the Carvin, Scott? I have the PB200. I picked it up as a cheap portable practice amp for the heck of it when my big amp was having troubles and didn't expect much. Now I'm convinced that I like its tone better than my all-tube SVT! The SVT is WAY more powerful of course, but...

I dont use it much in the winter, actually right now its out in my garage. Its a little to much for the house, so I use my little Fender BXR 25.

It would be a good small gig amp. I prefer 10" speakers though.

I'll bring it to the confluence, it may be for sale.

I've been using a Carvin ProBass 150 as my practice amp for 10 years now. I really like it as a practice amp. It has one 10" speaker and plenty of watts, plus compression, noise gate, eq, all that fun stuff. Since I'm planning on driving up to the Milwaukee Confluence, I'll bring it along and offer it if anybody who's flying in needs an amp to play through.

I'm an irregular lurker here, but I live in Milwaukee. I might be able to stop by with my 660/12 mapleglo if that's okay with everyone.

You're very welcome to come, Douglas C. I live in Cedarburg and work in Waukesha. There' probably a few others of us lurking here, too, and you're all encouraged to come. It's free (if you don't count the increased urge you'll feel to go out and buy another couple of Ricks when you leave). We might be getting a visit from a collector with a couple of very unusual Rick guitars. So come on down!

Does this "collector" own a shop in Milwaukee? Just guessing.

I can bring along an amp (tube head with a 112 cabinet) in addition to my 660/12. What I'm hoping to hear in person is vintage style toasters and flatwound strings. My 660/12 has 12K toasters and RIC pressurewounds, and I'd like to compare it to the stuff I read about here.

You mentioned in the beginning that you'd get back to us with the "secret code" or "magic handshake" to get the discount rate at the hotel. Any updates on this would be great. I know we still have a few months but I like to plan in advance......WAY in advance.

I recently picked up a SWR LA10 combo amp that I'll be bringing as well. It is small and convenient and since I swapped the speaker for something far better it also sounds fantastic.....perfect for a confluence!

Did you put one of those 10BX drivers in it?

If you like the LA10, you might like the Workingman's 10 even better. I tried a bunch of amps in that size range for a friend of mine recently and for the money the WM10 was the best. GC was selling the WM10 for only $20.00 more than the LA10, so it was a no brainer as to which amp to get.

No, I used a new Eminence Kappa Pro 10A driver that I bought as a spare (long story). I bought the LA10 for $120 on clearance from GC and it sounded OK at very low volumes. I did some research before I bought it that mentioned the weak point was the speaker and the Kappa Pro was a perfect replacement with some minor port adjustment......they were right on it now sounds fantastic considering it's size/wattage. Plus I like the handle layout and aesthetics a little better over the WM10. Thanks anyway!

So when do people typically congregate for the day? Is there any Friday activity, all day Saturday, Sunday? If I'm driving in, when do people wake up and get going Saturday? Is there setup help needed?
