Bummer of a story there Fran!

Jeff,

I know the jetglo's are rare. I wonder when they started making them and how many? There may have been only a couple per year.

JH once said that 4001V63JG production totaled in the tens. A few of us tried to figure out what that means(!), and decided it must mean less than 100. I wouldn't doubt it if it were closer to 50 as I've seen very few pop up on ebay.

Cool basses, these V63's...great tone, great playability, great look, great balance, reliable neck...can't go wrong!

Now if I can find one in SG!

I remember that thread.

Didn't Ken S. have a V63 in Monty? That's the only one I've seen or heard about. Beautiful bass!

How many colors did they come in?

Ken S.'s is a refin, though, and a dark one, but attractive nonetheless. That's a good question, though. Apparently, 2000 was the last year of the V63, and there were a few done in the COY, Sea Green. A couple of them belong to Forumites (Wints, right?). I think I've seen a picture of a Turquoise, too.

Ken's Monty was not originally Monty. It was re-finished. It does look nice, though.

I've heard that around 10 or 12 were made in SG. I have seen at least 3.
I've seen one in Turq on Mike Parks website and don't know of any others. It has an extra dot on the fretboard which has caused some to speculate that it could be a 4003S, but Mike has it labeled as a V63 and I believe it to be a V63:

Besides those I think the only V63 colors were MG, FG, and JG.

I asked JH once if any were made in Burgundy(2002 COY). He said something like: "I don't think so," or "I doubt it."

I'm not sure if V63 production ended in 2001 or 2002.

Oh, it's a refin. The coloring is great!

I know there's a Turquoise 4003S here somewhere! And I have seen the SG's, which are very cool.

I was never interested in a black guitars until I saw that V63! The gold really sets it off too!

Why thanks, Kevin. I'll tell Blackie that she has an admirer when I get home tonight!

And....I'm also the lucky putz with the 4003S in Turquoise:

Turquoise is my favorite Ric finish next to Ruby. Jeff, did you buy it new?

Glad you like it, Rikk. I'm a sucker for metallic finishes. MID and Silver are nice too.

No Rikk I didn't buy it new, but it may as well have been. I lucked into it on ebay about a year ago. Its a '94 but is in extremely nice shape. Most of the brand new stuff I see in the local shops isn't in as nice condition. Even the case is perfect! I'm almost afraid to play it(not)!

Here's another shot:

Don't you just HATE these guys on the forum that keep on posting the same tired old photos of their guitars over and over and over again?
