I'm with you Sheena. After seeing my Dad take 8 years to pass away, I would rather have some animals be used to find cures.

I was talking to some people that actually live in the area where seal clubbing "used" to take place, they think the McCartney's look like fools. They are protesting something that hasn't been legal for years. Maybe they should get their facts straight first, if they want to be taken seriously.
Sorry, I said I would comment on this again!Image

Their hearts are in the right place, which is more than I can say for SOME of us.

As far as I'm concerned, there is only one person that can judge whether our hearts are in the right place. And, He's the only one that counts.

Amen to that thought Kevin.

Okay Kev- Are you saying you'll donate YOUR pets for animal research? Put your money where your mouth is...

Where did that come from?

If my Father was still alive, and some scientist came to me saying he/she thinks they can discover a cure if only I give him our pet Lab and cat to practice on, I'd be saying goodbye to Brandy and Sylvester. But that's unrealistic. They could use the thousands of stray cats that are devastating the wild song bird population! Image
Here's Brandy after she killed a frisbe. It didn't have a chance!

Kevin, you sound like a very good friend of mine that's hunted his whole life and probably respects Mother Nature more than others. I'm glad I still live in a rural setting where fathers and sons & mothers and daughters pass on outdoorsman traditions that date back to the beginning of time. There's nothing wrong with being anti-hunting if that's what you want to believe, but don't personally attack others for doing something that's perfectly legal...and doing something as a family rather than watching the kids play video games all day and get fat. I personally don't hunt, but I respect people that do. Oh, and I've formed my own local chapter of PETA (people eating tasty animals)

Since i seem to be getting very little support on this topic of compassion for animals, I'll go ahead and take a further leap-
I think hunting in this day and time is moronic and testosterone-fed. How many women hunters are out there? example:"Hi Bettylou- this is Maryanne. After our nail appointment today, what do you say we go out and blow the head off something cute and unarmed? Then we can explain to our horrified children-'Sorry about the blood all over the car kids, but we just HAD to shoot something. After all, it IS legal."
Mankind has become de-sensitized to killing unless it affects their own lives. Dick Cheney is a shining example of 'hunter stupidity'. And hunting 'as a family'??? Oh my God, please stay in your rural setting, as i fear for my neighborhood. That's all, folks!!!

Oh, and Steve, say hello to Dennis for me. Tell him not to be a stranger, ok? You don't remember me, I was at your house after his wedding two years ago. No hard feelings, right? Just like to get people wound up. Oh and by the way, I know several woman that hunt...it doesn't make them bad people (in my opinion anyways)
