Nick, all it needed was a bit of work with the "brightness/contrast" control on the bigsby layer before flattening it...
You had it 90%.

OK, here are two photos (NOT Photoshop jobs) of 320s with slash sound holes of different sizes and positionings. They represent two extremes of possibilities...which do you prefer?
This one...
Or this?
The actual lengths of these sound holes are immaterial. We are looking at sizes relative to the body size of the guitar, and also the positioning (roughly the "2 o'clock" tilt).
Comments, anyone?

#2 for me. The positioning (to me) is closer to a nicer 'half way' situation (IYGMD).

#1 To my untrained eye. I just think the scimitar is in better proportion to the body (IMHO) Are they both yours Paul?

Paul, Where did you find two guitars with the same wood grain?

#2 seems to be more balanced with the guitar to me, even though it appears larger than #1. The angle "looks" better as well. #1 does not suit this body at all, IMO.
Personally, I don't really like any slash hole on the 325/350 body style, it just looks wrong to me. I much prefer the f hole you put on Brians 350, Paul (or none at all).

Wasn't trying to create any sort of grand mystery here, guys and gals. These are different-sized color Xerox cutouts positioned on a real 320 so as to evaluate the holes' size and positioning before I take the plunge, so to speak. Since this is irreversible, I want to make sure it's right.
Still seeking feedback on this one...

Paul, how would #2 look rotated more towards 1:00 (say about 5°)? Wouldn't the upper soundhole curve match the guitars curve better?

Pardon the crudeness, but perhaps more like this?

I was thinking the same thing about rotating it CCW. Now if you take Dean's picture and push it just a touch more toward the bass bout...
Great work on the other guitars, by the way. I've got a first year Jetglo 350 and always thought it would look great with checkerboard binding and maybe an F-hole.
