I will investigate Ted. I must say its not something that has occurred to me that it may not be installed correctly.

What do you mean by correctly? Backwards pickup?

"One suggestion. Make sure the treble pickup is installed correctly. Sometimes they get turned around when they are reinstalled after removing / replacing the cover. The E pole piece sits closer to the end of the bobbin than does the G pole. If it is turned around the bass will not sound right"

Bob, see the above that Ted wrote earlier in the thread.

Ted, I checked my pup and it is correctly installed. Back to the drawing board I think.

Yup, mines correct too. I never noticed that before so I've never had that problem, I would have noticed it if they had not centered under the strings.

I looked at my treble pup....the pole pieces are symmetrical...The E is just as close to the edge as the G.... SO I am not getting this??? Or is this on certain year pick-ups???
