Our first arena gig. Xphest 2006 in Rockland Ontario. A bunch of old guys playing surf and classic rock for and "X Games" festival. Off to my left were indoor skate/bike ramps where very young kids were doing the most extraordinary things on bikes, roller blades and skateboards. The ramps filled up the second we let into Misirlou. This was lots of fun...
The supplied stage gear was pretty lousy, but our sound guy tweaked us so we sounded great out front. Stage sound sucked tho. Monitors aounded like an AM radio with a ripped speaker. You do what you have to and enjoy anyway.

Misirlou on a 350!
I just can't dial in that "surf sound" unless I'm using a Jag with flats and a vintage set of pups. I would love to have been there!

Nice pics chaps....
It's summer in Devon, which throws up the usual crop of 'set up in the middle of a field' gigs. OK, I'm not actually playing on this, but a shot of the two world leaders in their respective 'fields' has got to be worth a look at.

Beautiful Tony. Two fireglos commanded by a Field Marshall.

Thanks Howard. It was it's first excursion into the public eye. It really turned heads and sounded great. The younger guitar players in the other bands were all quite impressed.
Nice 4000 Paul. Pretty slick threads too! Something about that pic just oozes class and summer time.
I doubt I could dial in a decent surf sound with just any old amp and the 350, but the AD120VTH will do just about whatever I need. It even lets the 350 do a pretty fair overdriven Billy Gibbons tone! I had to trim out the reverb completely, because hockey rinks do a pretty good job all on their own. We got it dialed in for the second set (where we introduced the young 'uns to the surf).
I did find out the hard way that the 350V63 requires a particular set up on stage. Quite sensitive to hi gain amp settings and inexperienced sound guys who are unclear on the concept of a backline, so they pipe you through the stage monitor. My ears are still ringing.
Great field work Tony! The gold trim really looks great in natural lighting.

Oh, and I need to mention, that is a forum T under my 350 and black silk. Couldn't debut the new Ric without my forum T.
Represent.
