Carole,
These are the Rickenbacker Combo 850 guitars.
John might have been referring to a friend though.

Carole,
does Suzy realize that she had the first 12 string Rickenbacker guitar and that it is famous in guitar collecting circles?

She is, Bob. I was not -- until I arrived here.

Paul, funny. Wish I knew how to play one of them. My forte is computers.

Your answer begs the question Carole, Does she regret selling it? and my forte is basses, definitely not computers or cameras, as Paul I'm sure can testify to.
Also does she know the she and her guitar are the subject of this thread?

Did you notice in Carole's last picture, the fellow is holding a 4005 bass?

Haha, being good at only one thing is great achievement already, Bob. Gotta be a superhuman to be good at more than two.
Carole, better let Suzi know what's going on here. Give her a call and send our greetings!!!

Not until you pointed it out, I glanced at it and thought it was a 360 or something.

Yeah, I didn't notice that either.
You've got eagle eyes, John.

Caught the 4005 - thought I would scoop everyone on it until I read the rest of the thread. Good eyes, Jwilli (no relation, as far as I know).

Carole, 'Combo 850' is the handle used by a good friend of mine who lives near me, and he is a Rickenbacker collector and a member of this Forum...He was a touring Bluegrass musician for almost 20 years as well.
Combo 850 is also a certain model of Rickenbacker guitar made mainly in the late '50's....
