Hey Joey, any idea on what the deal is with the different PU placement on the CII/5's?, mine is like the MG. Which came first, the closer to the neck? What tonel differences are they that you hear?

all 4004 basses got the pickup up against the neck so the truss rods can be replaced ... this started a few years ago ...

The trans red has a thicker low end response. It's like a monster. I can't play it through my Gallien-Krueger MB200. The speaker in that amp can't handle the B string on that bass because of all it's low end power. The MG Cii/5 can get a J-Bass like growl. I gig with the trans red Cii/5, it's great bass. I get many compliments on it's tone and looks.
