Hey Jim, congrats! Good thing I live in NY otherwise I would have been there as well! Your good luck still hasn't cured my interest in one of those things. Does it sound as good as it looks?

Wow, that is one beautiful 4005 Blue Boy...I really like the gold Truss rod cover with the light blue, Have you considered adding a matching Gold Pickguard? Congratulations, David

Congrats Jim, I think you have landed one of the most beautiful bass instruments ever designed or created. I am so envious, but happy for you! Ain't life grand?

Now, why can't we get Ric to add some qualified luthiers to their payroll and turn out some nice RIs of such wonderful instruments? Heck, I'd even buy one made in Japan under license from Ric! I've got a Fender RI that I love, so why not a Ric?

David, actually the truss rod cover on the 4005 BB is an original white one that has turned that goldish color. The bass was a total mess before it was restored.

It sure is looking fantastic now JWilli.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Well wouldn't you know it. A 4005 turns up on eBay and we're starting the fun off at $2,500. Now what's a fella to do? I just brought home a new fireglo 4003 tonight. Figures!
