Hey JB....old Fenders at reasonable prices can still be found if you look hard enough Image

With the assistance of Dave Pascoe, this little beauty, an early '68 P Bass, is being added to my collection. The deal was done at $1400 Image

I should also mention that she's a body-only refin, with newer pots.

Here's another photo, this time being modelled by that classic rock-god himself, Mr Dave Pascoe! (imagine serious baritone kick-*** rock DJ voice):-

I took her out last night to my job (for sea trials).

I really liked how light weight it was. It had a ton of tone and it was very warm sounding.

I did miss the sustain and "snap" of a Ric however (which is what I normally play).

Darren you promised not to post that picture. It's a good thing that I didn't pose in the school girl outfit, which was what you originally asked for. Image

BTW, I did a little better on the price.

$1378.00 including tax...

There are still deals out there...You just have to keep looking.

Anything pre CBS is a far different animal though, but the late 60's Fender's do rate as very good value for money.

I bought my first good bass in 1971, looked exactly like the Sunburst above.
