Jim, I was not talking about the buyer of this Aug-Sept 58 Capri with the above comments. I was talking about the guy that Jeff mentioned.

The Guy who bought the Capri is none other than Dave Kim, a really nice guy, avid Rick collector, and a fellow physician to boot. I highly recommend him to anyone as a friendly and avid collector. He also has had bad experiences with folks selling him "misrepresented" vintage guitars having blatantly undisclosed or concealed problems, like the 63 bass I bought from the party mentioned by Jeff Image

He also collects late-fifties and early-sixties Gibsons, but right now he is self-admittedly Rick-heavy. Dave is still trying to buy some of John Williams' guitars after 8 years so far of trying, unsuccessfully I might add...John? Image

Dave is also considering pulling the auction anyway for his 59 Capri, by the way, so please don't think he in any way listed it just to try to draw attention (and bids) away from the beautiful 58 he wound up winning.

Here is a link to one of his posts in the Thick Body Capri thread last year:

By the way, Bob, I do agree that guitars like this should go to active Forumites who desperately want them. So, Dave, here is your wakeup call to get more active on this Forum and quit spending so much time over at the Fender and Gibson Fora!! Image !!

Well, I feel a little better now. How many Ricks would you say Dave has then, Elys?

Gee, I dunno, Jim. He has shared photos of his first Capri, so I know he has at least three. But I have never visited his home or seen his collection first-hand. I just know about the guitars he has shared with me over the Internet. He had a mid-60s 325 that he sold a year ago, despite his primary interest in Capris.

Hey Jim,
Sorry for the delay, I was having problems gettin my account to open again. I have a number of rics. A 69 jetglo 325 with NO f hole, just like Lennons. It's on Glen Lamberts site. Several capris, several OS's (365's and a super rare 375), a McGuinn, and 4001v63 that is the best one I ever had. Have Gibsons, Fenders, Gretsches, Marshalls, Voxes, and other gear too. I may be posting one of my 365 OS's on ebay to help pay for some gear I'm looking at right now.

David: When you get the chance, would you please contact me at [email protected] and let me know your old username. It would help me keep things straight. Sorry for the difficulty.

If any forumite has particular questions about capris, I would be glad to help because I have owned many. I save a forumite from buying a fake capri last year. Fakes are becoming increasing common. I almost bought a "real" Marshall JTM 45 half stack yesterday, but a collector friend told me it was a fake.
