Good call, but some people don't like to be noticed; and, with the "let's-bump-them" attitude to newcomers and rare posters at some forums (and "private message spam" practice, like "send this letter to 20 people or you'll have no luck for 10 years", which i bumped into at some other forum where registration takes only a couple of minutes), i understand them. Sometimes it's safer not to be registered...
Edit: oops, that was my post # 4500. Heh-heh.

Hey Everybody, I'm Jumpindave and I'm a constant lurker. Not many posts from me it the past 5 or 6 years. To quote Chaucey Gardener in Being There, "I like to watch". There's a great wealth of information to be found here and I soak in as much as I can. Personally, It seems don't have much to add but when I can offer some small tidbit or relevent personal experience I'll shoot a post in. I've been to both MARF's so far and have met several of you. (Double Neck Dave, John Simmons, Dave Mc, Don, Jeffrey,& John Williams plus others come to mind). I've greatly enjoyed meeting and talking with all of you. If it weren't for this forum I would have never had a chance to play some extremely rare Ricks or even learn how to properly adjust the trussrod of my old 450-12. It seems I'm just the quiet type. It's really weird from a lurker's point of view that although we seem to know the regulars and we're standing on the edges of the crowd, you have no idea who we are. Of course that can be solved by us lurkers posting more often. I'll try, really I will. I Promise. Don't kick us out. Thank you

i was "standing in the shadows" for probably close to a year,just happy to see and learn more about the basses i have loved for 40 years. i "came out" when i decided,based on what i had read here,to purchase a 4004cii,and i love it. most of the time,i only chime in on existing posts,and even then wonder if i am just adding superflous rambling, but i really enjoy the spirit here,and hope to someday make it to one of the confluences to meet sum of ya'll in person. i still am "just" a lurker at the rickenbacker.com website-i don't really feel the need or urge to join in there. i am also of regular/modest means,so i do live vicariously through those of ya'll buyin' those high-dollar vintage/rare ricks.

Yes Dave, It's one of David's Combo 850's. I don't think I'll ever be lucky enough to have one of my own. But at least I live close enough to the Combo 850 epicenter to get a chance to visit them when they are allowed to come out and play!
