Hang in there Kris. Small comfort, I know. I ordered mine from NCM in March 2005, got it almost exactly 2 years later. If I'd read one more posting saying, "It's worth the wait", I think I would have kicked in my monitor. But eventually, it got here, and it is a fantastic instrument, so it was, uhm, er, worth the wait....

You just have to wonder, though -- will they EVER catch up with the backlog? I'm 56 years old -- I don't have a lot more time to wait 2 years for a guitar anymore. (Yeah, I know there's eBay and the used market -- but it's almost cheaper to buy a new Rick.) Heaven knows as long as I've on this forum, the backlog issue has been a constant theme. I wonder if the economy being in the tank will "help" the backlog? I know I've put off even thinking about any more guitars for now. I've seen more and more ads from the Sam Ash-Musician's Friend type outlets with big sales going on (of course, no sales on any Ricks). I have no insight at all into the world of guitar manufacturing -- just curious if RIC sees a slowdown in orders, would that allow them to catch up? Or would they react like a lot of other companies, and "retrench" when they see an order slowdown?

Not throwing stone here -- I'm not on any Rick waiting list at the moment, and am happy with my own Rick "Gang of 4". Keep us posted, Kris, on any progress on your order. Soon, (we all hope) you'll be able to post pics of your C63 too. Here's mine for the heck of it:

Nice. :D

I'm still drooling over that Sea Green 360/12 C63 from a few years back.

Just curious - what is the longest period of time some of the people on this forum have had to wait for a 360/12C63? That is - people who have ordered one -
not those who have just seen one for sale somewhere and bought it on the spot. Those who have stuck it out for more than 2 years - you are to be congratulated! :)

IIRC, Kris waited 38 months. So 3 years +.

They are worth the wait but since I have a few too many Rics at this point - I may consider selling my new 2009 360/12C63 when I have enough posts to put it on the RIC marketplace listings, if anyone is interested. I hate to part with it but these are tough times for a lot of us....however - I did not have to wait 3 years for mine and my hat is off to those who have had to wait that long like you, Kris - since I myself would not have that much patience.

There were several rimes during the wait that people pointed me towards a 360/12V64 or a 360/12C63 that had come in to a dealer and was not spoken for, but none of them could come close to the price I had reserved on order - Hence the wait.

To Timbo: Thanks for your reply Timbo. As far as pics go - I have a new digital camera I just got (was using an ancient VHS camcorder to send pics via email years back) but am not well versed yet as to how to set up and send pics, etc. since I'm fairly new to using laptops since I used to use an old webtv unit for internet surfing and ebay etc., years back) When I am allowed to use the classifieds here I can put up a pic or 2 once I get the hang of it. I don't want to do anything that is against the policies of the forum in the meantime though. I'm sure you understand. If you know what the C63's look like - mine of course looks the same and is in as new cond. with all blank papers etc. However at this point - I don't even know how to answer members questions or comments other than what I am doing here, posting a reply. Can one contact individuals by clicking on their profile or what? What am I allowed to do at this point - without the use of the marketplace postings? Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated!
