Still trying to figure out the best option for a replacement pick guard,I looked at the V63 and I think a V63 guard (with a right angle around the treble pickup surround rather than the pronounced curve on some later ones) would do the trick.
Its ironic that I have a V63 here with a guard that could fit the CS but I cant change the pickguard on that one because its going to be sold on to pay for the CS!
I dont want to sell the V63 with a CS pickguard on it either!
Pickguardian looks to be the best option at present and I could get him to drill the holes for the thumbrest (that isnt going to be fitted by the way).
The only snag is I have to post the CS guard all the way to the US and back to do that.
Does anyone have a V63 guard they want to sell?
I may have to go ahead with the re-fin while I sort out the guard.

Pete give Robbie from Rickysounds a call,at best all you would have to do is post him a tracing of the CS guard.

Progress is slow.
The pickguard John sourced from Rick was cut surprisingly different to the CS.
As ever Rickenbackers can be so individual. Many thanks go to John for helping me out though.
Then by chance Chuck had a plain guard on his CS but was removing it to sell on the CS as stock.
After the lunatics at Her Majestys Customs and the Royal Mail (and to think the Queen waved at me when I did the head-set start up on her BAE146 too! Hows that for gratitude? Liz,you and I need to talk.)slapped a few quids worth of duty (they must have thought it was solid gold!)on I now have a fully fitted plain white guard.
I will be getting a thumbrest but keeping it as an option after the holes are drilled.
Just as a reminder of what a stunning shape the RM1999 is in white check this out............

Hey...There she is! Maurice/Andy's Winterglo RM1999!

I got to spend some time with it (and that Andy guy too!) a couple years ago.

Very cool bass!
