I had no idea that Graham's collection was that big, and each and every one a classic, just stunning. I only play bass but I could be talked into guitar with that 1960 335F, that's as cool as a moose...!

That's probably the twin to GG's bass, and one of them is probably the earliest surviving ROS. My Feb 69 is still a mono baby...

Good point, Scott. I flashed on that when I read Sergio's post but didn't carry through on the thought to that conclusion.

The only problem I had with JH's statement, as to it looking like it had been for quite some time, doesn't jive with Chris having his output jack a stereo one and using dual amps (SVT-2 and a Marshall Super Bass) on stage. You'd think he'd notice the Marshall being dead quiet.

I thought I also read somewhere that RIC service got Chris's bass after another repair, so that may explain why the pickup lead was off when RIC got it. Can't imagine Squire not having that horsie working full throttle! Somewhere, maybe the RIC forum, there was a posting by JH on this subject.

If this is indeed Squire's bass, then it's the one that was used in the Astral Traveller film and possibly the studio bass used on The Yes Album as well.

Jim, that was kind of my thought. I am not doubting RIC found the pickup disconnected, just that it looked like it had been off for quite a while. I think Chris would have missed it.

I still think that horse shoe pick up could have been added later.
Check your inside cover pictures in the Fragile album.
Thats the 21 fretter behind Chris.
Also check out the footage of Astral Traveller and again its a later version of bridge pick up with oblong surround.
An old horse shoe would have been easier to find way back in the 70s dont you think?
Maybe the thing wasnt connected when Rickenbacker did some work on the bass so it could be you guys are right about the confusion over which Squire bass Mr.Hall saw.
