I'm still laughing about it 2 days later.
I dedicated it to Joey Vas(ectomy)co. We expected a bollocking from the station manager but I think he had taken his medication and was asleep at his desk and missed it! :D

Hendrix = God like.

SRV = Bland.
Clapton = Blander.
Dale = ZZZzzz.
Gilmour = ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzz.
Knopfler = Yawn......

Apart from the top two, it's all elevator music, innit?

Yeah, Rob...I would like you to tell that to Dick Dale's face, standing in an elevator! AND if you've ever heard him in person--a 71-year-old guy who is as fit as an 18-year-old, and who ROCKS, mercilessly, and deals out serious assault to both our ears and his Strats, you'd think otherwise.

Or maybe not. Some people just can't get it... :wink:

****** marketing of ****** ideas by Fender aside.....The Stratocaster is the most versatile guitar ever built. Three single coil pups and a five way switch gets you killer blues at the neck..tele twang at the bridge and on the forth position that strat quack...nothing else tonewise like that! Blues, rock, surf, psych, country, metal and jazz tones can be pulled up..try that with a Les Paul (love them but they don't have an equal tone range). Aside from that (and I know it's in the eye of the beholder), a strat is the sexiest axe ever made...a freekin 57 Chevy with a wang bar...
Jimi
Eric
SRV
Knoppfler
Buddy Guy
Robert Cray
Malsteem
Beck
Dick Dale
Blackmore
Gilmore
Hank Marvin
Maybe..a few other boring guys :D :twisted:

Everyone has their faves, and anti-faves; I love my USVRI Strats, and I've never owned a Gibson!

Paul W; what's an "MK" Strat? I'm sure it's obvious, but it escapes me at the moment. Mark Knopfler maybe? I didn't know he had a signature model if so. :? :?

In light of all the "Strat Bashing", time to fess up and admit to owning one (if you do). I have a 2005 MIM Midnight Wine and one 2008 black American Standard (on the way.)
