Were there any AFG 381 reissues built?
Not many. The one I saw was freaking gorgeous.

John Minutalgio's extremely rare 1993/12 RM RI has some beautiful flamed maple, from the pics I've seen. It would be a dream to see it and play it in person. It (or another one that looks a hell of a lot like it!) is just one out of my two dream Rics (the other is a 1998 PT, but that's another story)!

Wow, there are some truly amazing looking Ric's out there. Thanks for sharing your pics everyone.
I love my 330 but it isn't really in the same league as some of these.
I often get comments on the happy face in the grain of my guitar. I think it's kind of cool/weird so I think it qualifies.
Cheers,

That's AWESOME Shawn! I love the strange incosistencies in Rics- stuff like that is really cool- you have an Edward Munchenbacker.

Here's my 1997 that has a somewhat cool grain pattern. Take a look at the upper horn and you'll see what looks like a bleached line or two. When I first saw the guitar, I thought it was a flaw. However, when you look at the rest of the body, you'll notice that the lines continues down past the bottom of the F-hole.

I think grain like that on Kevin's bass is my favorite...very 3D with understated features.
