I'd rather arrest the arsonists, hang them upside-down by their unmentionable parts and then let the victims who lost cherished loved ones and possessions at them!
The pictures and stories on the news and internet have been heart breaking. I hope the fires are contained soon and all you guys are safe!

Down here we are not so much concerned with the arsonists, as bad as they are, it's the LOOTERS i detest!!
Get me a shotgun!

After reading every post, it sounds to me like it's the work of Satan himself.

To think that some of these fires could have and probably have been lit by fellow human beings defies imagination. Forget bullets, gas and long term jail sentences.......... burn the b*stards!!!
Ditto!

Melbourne today is covered by thick smoke due to a wind change that has blown our way. The sun is shining a rather eerie orange/red glow. The toll is standing at 181 people lost and 1800 homes destroyed.
It seems the Aussie legend of "help your mates" rings true, as over $100 million has been raised to assist the victims,(who prefer to be known as "survivors").
Looters and arsonists have been arrested!!!!!
Fires are still burning all over Victoria, as people from small towns prepare to evacuate.

That's the spirit. This tragedy has demonstrated once again to the world that you are a proud and caring nation with a strong sense of unity and support for each other. I am so proud of you all.

Thoughts and prayers... fire can be a cruel thing. It makes you grateful for what you have and mourn for those that have lost. A speedy recovery in troubled times. All the best guys....
