I would have rather seen Ric use the 325C58 as the spring board for these 310s, rather than the 325C64. A 310 Capri made of maple in a Monty Brown finish, that would have been a big WOW!

There is something in the air though and I would love it if there were an RM1999 in the pipeline.
Having said that the "real" thing would have to come with an aluminium tailpiece/bridge+saddles as well as magnetised shoes and maybe the longer "tail" version of the HS surround plus the correct profile behind the nut/headstock to cover all the issues entailed.This one looks like a modded V63.

High prices, Japanese market only, limited numbers...it's a shame that none of these guitars will wind up actually being played! I fear they will share the fate of countless Leica cameras (though at half the price)--bought as investments and kept in their cases indefinitely. Sure doesn't do much to dispel the noxious rumors that Rickenbackers are for collectors/fondlers only! (Note, I don't buy that line, mind you--the best Rickenbacker is a Rickenbacker that gets played!) It's a shame, though. I imagine that, like the aforementioned Leicas, these guitars would be fantastic instruments to USE!

I have seen these guitars already on pre sale for around $4000

I HEARD that they're debuting an old style 345F, but as a 12 string. A 12 string with a Kauffman. It'll also have a B-bender, but it won't bend the unison string. That's what I heard.

If they are going to re-introduce an F (YIPPEE!), then I guess that would seriously affect the value of the vintage F's already out there, and that could possibly explain why there are suddenly a few on the market again. Just a thought.

Ok.... I was joking. And for what it's worth, reissues usually drive the price of the real thing up. C58s did not hurt 325 Capri values, etc etc etc. I don't suspect that the F will ever get reissued. Nor will the 4005.

Yup, guitars work that way.

The guy who is buying a $10,000+ original F model would likely buy a reissue too, because it would seem like a bargain at $5000. Plus, no matter how you slice it----the guitars would be two very different things, even with attention to specs etc.
