LOL...I hear ya, the best highlight of going to NAMM for me would be to see all the cool new stuff the other companies have to offer this year, but there would be no need to go to check out the Rick booth, bass wise all I have to do is go upstairs and and go look and or play mine, already have everything bass wise they have had to offer for a couple of years now that I like, like many others was hopeing for something new and exciteing from Rick, im not bashing them, but as a customer of thier products, I am alittle dissapointed at the lack offering something to appise us customers, as I would have greatly appreciated if they at least epanded their standard color options and gave us alittle more finishes to choose from, I already have 2 midblu, and 2 fireglo and 2 jetglo basses and am not a big fan of mapleglo, had a mapleglo 1980 4001 and traded it in for the 2008 jetglo 4003 I have, so as I said , im not basshing Ric, but as a customer, I am dissapointed that it seems no effort was made to offer something new to us as customers, its like slap in the face.

Didn't someone from RIC once say . . .
"Rickenbacker in 2009: Pushing forward on the throttle as everyone else in the industry slams the brakes..."
That must be the explanation for what RIC is up to. They've been busy pushing on the throttle.
NAMM just wasn't the right time to break out the news . . . the neat new stuff will be announced when least expected . . . possibly soon . . .
Hmm. I wonder if that motto will be the same for 2010 . . .

Guys, if this thread just continues to be a "Bag on RIC for making nothing new" thread, it's going to get locked up.
One major guitar company didn't even make it to the NAMM show because of the way THEY conduct business!

Let's get back on topic and please remember the rules. Particularly rules 3 and 4.
3. Posts shall not be rude, offensive or nonsensical.
4. Posts shall not show apparent disrespect for others, including RIC and its employees

John it has more to do with where this thread is potentially headed. Some of the posts above have managed to step on to a slippery slope and if we did not take it upon our selves to caution the membership my experience tells me that the slide will almost certainly occur. Being a long time member of the forum, I would appreciate your consideration, support and understanding on matters such as this.
Scott I don't understand your comment at all to be honest.

Brian, I just see a little venting after the big months ago buildup about wowing us all, then the RM releases to Japan, then the News post on the RIC site. That's all.

I think that rule 3 should be modified to just include rude or offensive. I've seen tons of posts that might be considered nonsensical, some of them pretty funny. Makes the forum more entertaining to read.
I'm guessing that the demographic here is what, 90-95% male? Good natured ballbusting is a revered tradition, especially among friends. The usual suspects do this all the time, and again, sometimes it gets pretty funny. The ladies even get in on the jabs occasionally. Technically, these are all violations of rule 4. Thankfully, the rules are not generally enforced on these posts.
All I've seen is the frustration of some diehard RIC fans that want to buy more guitars.... no real anger at RIC.
