No comment from me, as the market will have the final say on this product.

However, this is somewhat interesting:

Low frets? A built in effects processor w/solderless connections? Noiseless pickups? That's it? That's what you get for millions of dollars in R & D? Each time he calls it revolutionary seems to make it less so.

I'm not too worried about Gibson though. Since it's a limited edition of 1800, can't they just strong arm their dealers into buying the whole run and call it a day?

I have a suggestion for Hank:
Take your "revolutionary" guitar. Plug it into an amp. Have a reasonably competent player play it.
WE'LL decide whether it is truly "revolutionary".
This one-NO!
Two more thoughts:
Make 'em like you used to-seems to work for Rickenbacker.
If you want to make something different that works, hire Joe Naylor. When was the last time he introduced a new design to less than stellar reviews. When was the last time YOU introduced one TO stellar reviews?

Actually, Rickenbacker did bifilar winding on the 4002 pickups IIRC. Long before Gibson came up with their new patent pending technology.

I wasn't referring to the pickups in particular Jeff. His whole, this is revolutionary premise is what's at issue.

If the Firebird X came with an automatic paying audience instead of built in effects, I'd find that revolutionary.
