I agree that it's infringement, and I know they have a legal obligation to pursue all offenders. But it seems like they have much higher priorities, like Asia, where Ric copies are being made by the thousands and are being sold in the US, Canada and Europe. Those copies are infringing on headstock, TRC, pickguard, etc etc. The Z is just the body shape, so the low production # combined with less egregious copying seems like it would put it down on the list. Either way, I wouldn't want to face Ric's legal team on my best day.

Abandonment of Copyright, I think its called, Thats the reason fender dosn't get all wild, because they let it happen in the 60s and abandoned copyright. Companies have to stay on their toes nowadays.
