Oh yes, I know. My '72 is probably less than 8.5lbs. My 1st CS was over 10lb, the second a little lighter, the V63 lighter still. The various 4001s I've owned average at about 9 or so.

If I could stand to be without this Cii for more than a week or two, PW would no doubt be my first choice!

Send it to me, I'll route it for ya...

Actually, I'm planning on doing just such a mod to my 4004Cii. Probably later this spring when I get my Bridgeport mill setup, I'll "do the deed" (no sloppy routers for me, thank you veddy much)...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Send it to me Joey. I can route it, then wire it whatever way you want. Shipping would be an added expense, but if no one in SoCal has the courage to take a Dewalt fixed base plunge router to your Ricky...I do

It's a good thing for me that my Dremel went belly up. I might have tried it myself.

Pity. On the other hand; you can use Rickenbacker straps now. They are small.

I guess so! Hopefully we'll be able to sort it out soon enough & then I won't have to worry about it anymore....
